The IS® 5100Z series of full-sized zero-turn mowers features an impressive complement of comfort, performance and convenience. It features easier service access, more horsepower, improved operator comfort and increased performance, all contributing to lower cost of ownership. We've upgraded our industry-exclusive suspension and Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) as a standard feature. When it comes to commercial lawnmowers, this is truly the ultimate riding and cutting machine.
- ROPS (Roll Over Protection): The high folding point prevents the cross bar from extending beyond the end of the machine, making it easier to back into tight spaces. Standard feature on all Ferris zero-turn mowers.
- Oversized Fuel Tank: Oversized fuel tanks with extra large filler necks allow for longer operation between fills with less chance of spillage during fueling.
- Retractable Seat Belts: Retractable seat belts are less likely to tangle.
- Five Bolt Pattern: Our five bolt pattern wheels are a stronger design than competitive 4-bolt wheels.
- Foot-Operated Deck-Lift: Foot-operated deck-lift takes the effort out of adjusting cut height and allows for handsfree operation while mowing.
- Flex Chute: Flex Chute allows for enhanced discharge of grass clippings. It also reduces damage to obstacles as well as damage to the mower itself. The chute flexes and returns to its original shape.
- Deck: Our super tough deck construction begins with lap welded corners, double top decks that resist warping and cracking and double reinforced side skirts. Finally each deck is sealed with automotive quality powder coat paint.

- Rear Discharge Deck: Rear-discharge decks, used for special applications, are available in 61 in. or 72 in. cutting widths and disperse grass clippings directly behind the mower.
- Hercules™ Spindles: Hercules™ cast-iron mower spindles with oversized 1 1/4 in. tapered roller bearings, 1 1/4 in. shaft and 10 1/4 in. 6-bolt flange design. Lasts longer, adds strength to the deck and requires minimal maintenance.
- 1/4 in. Frame Rails: Ferris frames are an industry leading 1/4 in. thick. Competitive fixed frame units use thinner 1/8 in. walls.
- Double A-belt & Cast Iron Pulleys: Heavy-duty banded double A-belt & cast iron pulleys handle load capacity better than the competition. Our double A-belt is less stresses than a traditional single belt configuration.
- Gas Gauges: Gas gauges are easy to view from operator compartment.
- Flip Up Seat and Seat Pan: The seat and seat pan flip up to gain access for easy serviceability.
- 5/8 in. Hoses: The 5/8 in. hoses to the hydro pumps, reservoir & filter provide consistent supply and flow. This results in a more reliable system and less “jerkiness”.
